Born in 1982 in Johannesburg, Luke Hackney is a Cape Town-based artist and visual arts teacher. They hold a master’s in Art History from the University of the Witwatersrand and relocated to Cape Town in 2021. Specialising in digital drawings, they create prints of Lion’s Head viewed from across the city. Living in Sea Point, Luke sees the mountain as a constant presence—unchanging amidst life’s shifts. Their work explores Lion’s Head as a guide and symbol of resilience, capturing its role as both landmark and witness to the human experience in an ever-evolving urban landscape.
