Wiehan de Jager is an artist, printmaker, designer, illustrator, and lecturer. They explore the processes of mark-making through the juxtaposition of collage, printmaking, drawing, painting, and digital illustration techniques. Wiehan draws inspiration from arid and tactile natural Southern African landscapes, which they find to be inimitable, spiritual, and complex in their unpretentiousness. Interpretations of movement, stillness, and change are explored. These interpretations become textural, layered, structured, emotive, and abstract, as if slowed down or paused in their volitant moment
